Signifying a revolution in microplastics sampling technology, Ocean Diagnostics commenced its beta testing program of a portable depth sampler off the coast of Saanich, British Columbia on July 20, 2020.
Engineered specifically to advance the field of microplastics research by enabling scientists to break through the existing barriers of heavy, large and expensive depth sampling equipment, the Profiler can deployed from small vessels to kayaks and even SCUBA diving.
With a few minor tweaks to the design, the ODI team is finishing the beta units to start field testing the technology this fall.
